NOT Wasting The Weekend...In The West Village

With mild summer temperatures this weekend, I stayed in the city to catch up with friends and enjoy NYC nightlife. I was tired from a busy week at work but I wasn't about to let that dictate my weekend activities.  I napped a little on Friday and Saturday and told myself to buck up. I managed to have fun during the day and also into the wee hours of the morning.

On Saturday, I strolled the High Line Park with my friend I met on a blogging trip to Israel. The High Line walkway is ever changing. Artistic expression pops up randomly along the elevated path. New exhibits are always entertaining, inspiring, or amusing. Many times a combo of all three. After enjoying a summer afternoon in the city, I went out with an ice skating friend to The Jane Hotel in the West Village. My friend and I danced into the morning with an eclectic group of Europeans and other internationals. Since I often wish I was still traveling, hanging out with guys from Sweden and New Zealand is a very decent option and keeps my thinking mobile.

While I try to live my weeks and weekends to the fullest, I continue to encourage you to do the same. When life is a touch more exciting and youthful, the return of Monday morning is much more tolerable. Hope you had a good weekend too! Happy Monday!

NOT Wasting The Weekend...On Otisco Lake

While I preach insurrection and NOT waiting for the weekend, it is just as important, when the weekend does arrive, to NOT waste that time. Never sit, always go out and do. During the summer, the only place I want to be is in Upstate NY on Otisco Lake where my family has a camp. Warm weather doesn't last long there and the lake season is a rousing three months.

The trip up to Syracuse is five hours too long but when I finally get to the lake it's totally worth it. I grew up water skiing and always pray that the water will be calm for the perfect ride. What is your favorite summer activity? If you haven't done it yet this summer, then get on it! If you have, do it again. Summer is short and the work week is long. Plan your weekend and play hard.

Not Waiting For The Weekend To....Make Murals on Houston Street in NYC

While out running on Wednesday night I came across this masterpiece in the making. These ladies are not waiting for the weekend to use their artistic abilities to redecorate Houston Street. If you're artsy, don't wait until Saturday to be creative. For a better week and a more positive outlook explore that potential before the weekend. Grab your paint brushes and get going!
